Saudade Language School is very excited to take its students, for the first time, to MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology.
We will admire this beautiful riverside building by the Tagus River, and enjoy the unique opportunity to experience the exhibition “Notre Feu” by Isabelle Ferreira, guided by the artist herself, in Portuguese!
Isabelle Ferreira is a Luso-descendant artist who explores, through her art, the memory of Portuguese emigration to France.
O Salto addresses the theme of the rituals emigrants followed when crossing the border during the time of the Dictatorship.
Upcoming Book Club Meeting
This month, we challenge our students to delve into the world of Portuguese drama through the literary piece Angústia para o Jantar (Anguish for Dinner), by Luís de Sttau Monteiro.
This work addresses social hypocrisy, conformism, and a form of oppression that transcends the political sphere, infiltrating domestic life and human relationships.
The anguish arises from the inability to be authentic in a system that prioritizes appearance over truth.
In this session, we also have the special participation of the JÁ International Theatre, which will present a live, private and exclusive interpretation, arranged especially for our Book Club!
