Museum of Tiles – Madre de Deus Convent
On August 12, our students set out on an immersive journey through history within the captivating walls of Convento da Madre de Deus.
Amongst the awe-inspiring beauty of Igreja da Madre de Deus, bedecked with intricate sculptures, vivid paintings, and meticulously crafted tiles, our day became an artistic encounter with the past, dating from the 15th century to the vibrant present.
Yet, this experience was not just a passive observation. Students were invited to paint their tiles using the cherished traditional Majolica technique.
After the delicate firing process, these tiles transformed into tangible memories, ready to be carried home as unique keepsakes.
