Book Club #1: Casos do Beco das Sardinheiras

January 31st marks the debut of our Book Club – Entrelinhas.

The first book we covered was Caso do Beco das Sardinheiras, from the author Mário de Carvalho.

This book is composed by several short stories, all from the perspective of the various denizens of Beco das Sardinheiras. They detail stories of all sorts of colorful characters, as well as the adventures and misadventures they partake in.

In this first session, we covered the stories “A Algaravia” and “O Gato Gatão”. The students read the stories aloud, then we all discussed these tales together!
