Electricity Factory
This time we took the Saudade students to visit the Electricity Factory. Central Tejo was a thermoelectric power station that supplied the Lisbon region with electricity in the 20th century.
We began by appreciating the building’s impressive architecture, an iron structure clad in brick, which reveals different styles of art, from art nouveau to classicism.
We learnt about the history of electrical production through all the machinery in the exhibition.
It was a fantastic experience, which ended with our students in the experimental laboratory, where they were able to experience some forms of energy production, not only electrical, but also renewable!
