General Conditions
- In order to book a place on a course, the student must fill in the Saudade Language School’s enrolment form and accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Full payment for the course must be made before the first day of the course by bank transfer, or in person before the first class.
- The discount provided on the purchase of several course modules can only be applied if they are paid at once and in full.
- The course price includes enrolment fees, all the didactic material used in classes, the possibility to participate in the social and cultural activities promoted by the school and a Certificate of Attendance provided at the end of the course.
- The course price also includes school insurance (only and during face-to-face classes at the school), but doesn’t include textbooks, transfers or any extracurricular activities.
- If the progressive course has less than two students enrolled, Saudade Language School reserves the right to cancel the course. The course price remains unchanged. If the student has already paid, they can ask for a refund or wait for the next course.
- If the 30 hour Intensive Group course has less than two students enrolled, Saudade Language School reserves the right to reduce the duration of the daily lessons from 3 hours to 1 hour and 30 minutes. The price of the course remains unchanged.
If the student does not wish to participate in these short-form private classes, they can request a refund.
Cancellations
- Students can unsubscribe from a group course up to 48 hours before the starting date. In case the course had already been paid, Saudade will fully reimburse the student.
- Students can change their course and timetable up to 48 hours before the starting date, depending on the school’s availability. These situations will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
- Students must give the school a minimum of 24 hours’ notice if they will be absent from class. In situations of absence without previous warning, the student will lose the lesson. Situations of exceptional circumstances and illness will be taken into consideration.
- No fees will be refunded for classes missed without warning, for students being delayed or leaving a lesson earlier. In these cases, students are not compensated with an extra lesson.
- There will be no compensation or refunds for students who miss intensive group classes, pair classes, or corporate group classes, whether with or without justification.
- Students who decide to change from one course to another will receive credit for the amount paid, and should pay any difference in course prices.
- Students are only allowed to be absent up to a maximum of 25% of the total course classes. If a student does not comply with this rule, they are not eligible to receive a Certificate of Attendance and will be advised to repeat the same level/course. There is no refund under these circumstances.
- Students who enroll and pay for a course but don’t finish it on the dates and schedule previously agreed with the school are given the possibility to finish its lessons within 3 months. After this deadline, it won’t be possible to issue a refund for unattended lessons.
- Saudade Language School can provide a refund for classes not taken in the first 30 days after a successful payment, considering a valid justification, except for the cases mentioned in point 5.
Holidays and Public Holidays
- Saudade Language School is open for classes from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 20:30.
- Saudade Language School’s office hours are from 14:00 to 18:00.
- Saudade Language School reserves the right to be closed on Portuguese public holidays. Should this occur, all students will be duly informed in advance.
- Saudade Language School does not provide a refund for cancelled classes due to public holidays or teacher absence. In these situations, lessons are rescheduled.
- Saudade Language School closes annually for Christmas holidays in the last 2 weeks of December.
- If Saudade Language School is closed unexpectedly, it will endeavour to reschedule all affected classes.
Visa Letter Conditions
If a student needs an acceptance letter from the school to request a Student Visa letter, the following conditions are applied:
- The student will be required to pay 30% of the total course price plus 150,00€ for acceptance letter costs. The payment must be made in advance by bank transfer.
- The student must pay for the remaining 70% amount of the course up to the course starting date.
- The acceptance letter will confirm the course start and end dates, and will consider the information regarding the course previously booked by the student.
- If the Student Visa is to be rejected, Saudade Language School will refund the 30% payment of the total course price previously paid by the student, upon presentation of an official dated document from the Embassy regarding its rejection.
- The 150,00€ of Acceptance Letter costs are not refundable if the Student Visa application is rejected.
