Pimenta Palace – Museum of Lisbon
We had the pleasure of taking its students to the Palácio Pimenta, a former summer palace with 18th century manor house architecture, which currently has two exhibitions that invite us to travel back in time.
The temporary exhibition ‘Lisbon in Revolution 1383-1974’ tells ‘stories of resistance and change, the reinvention of identity values, human rights and freedom’ and how they have shaped the Portuguese political, social and cultural landscape to this day.
In the permanent exhibition we heard about Lisbon’s urban, social and cultural evolution from the 17th to the 20th century, through the visualisation of various pieces of art such as paintings, furniture, ceramics and photographs.
