Walking Tour: The Other Side of Tejo River
On 15 September, we explored the history of Cais do Ginjal, where old factories and warehouses once bustled with activity, housing canned fish, wine, olive oil and vinegar. 🐟🍷
This picturesque quay is home to the Cacilhas Lighthouse, the Barracuda submarine, the D. Fernando II and Glória fragates and the archaeological remains of the Cacilhas Roman Fish Salting Factory, all of which bear witness to the region’s maritime heritage.
Our adventure continued with a visit to a secret location along the riverside promenade, followed by a stroll through the vibrant historic city centre of Almada.
🏢❤️ We explored iconic landmarks such as Casa da Cerca – Contemporary Art Centre, the Botanical Garden – Chão das Artes 🎨 and the Castle Garden, with a privileged view of the city of Lisbon.
