Walking Tour through Mouraria
On July 18, we explored the charming streets, lanes and alleys of Mouraria – a popular Lisbon neighbourhood whose origins date back to medieval times, in an unforgettable cultural experience for our dear students!
We began our walk in Praça Martim Moniz, led by our guide Daniela, and climbed the emblematic São Cristóvão steps, where we could see the door of Lisbon’s oldest bookshop.
We walked along the steep, labyrinthine streets that wind around the foot of São Jorge Castle, discovering historical sites such as Largo da Achada, Palácio e Rua da Rosa and Largo da Severa – the scene of many Fado nights!
Our students were enchanted by the stories and the ancestral and multicultural atmosphere that make Mouraria such a special and unique place!
